Family Night

We started a new tradition in the house. On Friday nights, we have Family Night. During this time, no one is allowed to talk on the phone or play on the computer. It is a time set apart to spend with family to get to know one another better, to have fun together, and to bond. We've only been doing it for a month now and it's usually after baby L goes to bed, but so far, we have played the new Monopoly a couple of times, a geography game, and recently, we played video games in the home theater. Now, every time I go somewhere I look to see what games they have that we can play as a family. It's bringing back a lot of memories from when I was younger and used to play board games and card games with my mom and friends.

Since we had our homeschool Science Fair last Friday night, Family Night was moved to Saturday, but it was fun. K stayed up a little later and beat us all. For someone who doesn't ever get a chance to play video games, he did really good. If I thought playing video games were a healthy hobby, I would let him play more, but that's one hobby I don't want him to get addicted to. I like the fact that he still enjoys playing outside and would rather be outside than inside. That's another topic for another day.

Baby L driving

Baby L wanted in on the driving action. She was really trying to shift the gears. The girl loves to be where the action is.

New Year's Eve

Here's our first family picture of 2009. M, K, V, C, me, and baby L. New Year's eve was a fun and laid back night. We hung out with friends, watched fireworks, popped fireworks, ate pizza, played a board game, and played the wii.

I don't know how she did it, but baby L stayed strong until we got in the car at 12:15 a.m. for our .8 mile journey home. She wasn't interested in taking a nap because there were too many things going on in the other rooms. I have been blessed with 2 very determined and strong willed children that know what they want when they want it.

Family Pics

Here are a few family pictures from Christmas holiday at our house...

Here's a picture of my my sister's girls, V, C, & M, my mom, K with his new coonskin hat, and my dad holding baby L with bottle in hand... what can I say, she likes to eat like her momma.

Here is another picture of more nieces and a nephew. Baby L was sleeping and I didn't have the heart to wake her up. She was taking her first nap of the day at 3 p.m.
A picture of my brother holding K. He was doing what he does best... being crazy!
M's side of nieces and nephew.... Can you tell we have lots of girls in the family?
It was a wonderful Christmas holiday full of great times, fun fellowship, good food, and lots of new memories.
