Today we visited Junea. It was wonderful weather and a great day for walking on a glacier. As soon as I found out we could go on a glacier trek, I got really excited, although I didn't really want to pay for it, it's something I really wanted to do. Since my birthday was going to be in a couple of days, M "surprised" me with tickets for a helicopter ride to the top of a glacier. I was stoked! As soon as we got off the ship and found our excursion guide, we found out we weren't going to be able to go, because the glacier we were going to go on had formed it's own clouds, as glaciers do, and they were too thick for helicopters to land on. They gave us the option of waiting for another one or cancelling. We cancelled. Fortunately, we were able to find a local excursion booth that sold the same experiences, on a different glacier for much cheaper. Not only were we able to walk on a glacier, but we also "saved" some money. I really wish I could upload all the pictures from this day, because the scenery was absolutely breathtaking. If we hadn't taken so many I would, but it'll take too long and I'm doing good to get some posted.I had to take a picture of this guy because he looked and sounded like the actor, Seth Rogen. It wasn't the first time he had heard that either.
If you've ever wondered how tall a mile is... there ya go... This glacier is over 5,200 feet thick. Makes the trees look SO small!
